An Unexpected Journey
I got cancer and had to move five days after my surgery. This is how Finally Home Services began. I truly never imagined that this is where I would be today, owning a business. Growing up, I wanted to be a meteorologist! In 2015, my husband and I put an offer on our “dream home” and quickly got our home in shape to go on the market. Within days, we were outbid on our dream home and a great offer on our current home. Just a few days later, I got a call from doctor telling me that I had thyroid cancer. You know what they say, “when it rains, it pours”!
In December of 2015, I had my entire thyroid removed. Five days later, we moved into a rental house with no hot water AND roaches in the shower! However, everything happens for a reason, and God’s plan led me straight to Finally Home Services. I felt called to help people with the moving process, after thinking about my crazy experience. I could help someone through their most stressful time. In May of 2016, I began by working for free and using my friends as guinea pigs…and that summer Finally Home Services had 22 paid moves – that is a LOT of moving. It has only continued from there, as we have completed nearly 600 moves and traveled across the country. I am so thankful for all that God has done in my life, and I cannot wait to see how Finally Home Services will continue to grow!
